Biafra: Police confirm DAILY NIGERIAN story on killing of 4 Hausa residents in Delta

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Zanna Ibrahim, has confirmed the killing of four people by suspected members of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Abraka, Delta State.

DAILY NIGERIAN had on Friday night exclusively reported the attack which left four people dead and several others injured.

Mr Ibrahim said the police received information at about 10: 45pm on Friday that “three unknown gunmen wearing black dresses suspected to be IPOB or cult members stormed Abraka market which is predominantly inhabited by non-indigenes, opened fire indiscriminately and killed four persons.”

The commissioner gave the names and ages of the victims as Usman Abdullahi, 45; Ali Sidi, 70; Ibrahim Zubairu, 30; Hauwa SNU, 22.

Mr Ibrahim said five people who sustained bullet wounds are receiving treatment at Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, while the bodies are deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.

He said the police crack team, based on a tip off, had stormed Seven Stars Hotel, Abraka and arrested two suspected attackers: 24-year-old Abraham Ndudi from Kwale, Delta and 21-year-old Okereke Ifeanyi from Ogbaru in Anambra State.

“The suspects were smoked out hiding in the ceiling of the hotel where the assailants were said to have escaped into,” said the commissioner.

Mr Ibrahim said the third suspect, nicknamed “Last Burial”, escaped arrest.
