The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Adamawa State has endorsed the state governor, Jibrilla Bindow, for the party’s governorship ticket.

A former chairman of the EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu and President Muhammadu Buhari’s in-law, Mahmoud Halilu Ahmed, have thrown their hats into the ring to challenge the governor despite incumbency factor.

The state party chairman, Ibrahim Bilal, revealed the party’s resolve on Saturday at Mr Bindow’s official declaration for second term at the party secretariat in Yola, saying the party executives at all levels as well as other stakeholders had decided to support the governor.

“The 21 local government party chairmen, secretaries, and other stakeholders have asked me to announce it to you that no vacancy for those who are aspiring against you. This is to reciprocate the good you have done to our state.

“We resolved to unanimously endorse him as our consensus candidate. In Adamawa, we are all for Bindow. Let the national working committee adopt any option, direct or indirect, we will not be rattled.

“We executed a lot of projects and run a transparent government, hence the need to consolidate the achievements.

“Those who are fighting us are doing so for their selfish interests and envy. If reelected, we shall redouble our efforts in serving the people,” he said.
