There is possible break down of law and order as the two political leaders of Kano State, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, are set to meet at the zonal meeting of the APC in Katsina on Sunday.
The two leaders have avoided each other as hostility deepens between them despite reconcilliatory efforts of the party leaders.
DAILY NIGERIAN gathered both the two sides have already mobilized thugs from the 44 local government areas of the state to accompany them to the event.
“It will be a bloody clash as the two sides have mobilized thugs to Katsina. As I speak to you, Kwankwaso and Ganduje are coming to Katsina at least 100 buses each full of political thugs and weapons such as machetes, knives, bows and arrows,” a source familiar with Kano politics said.
Crisis broke out in the party when a faction led by Mr Ganduje mulled taking discplinary action against Mr Kwankwaso, for allegedly “destabilizing the peace of the state” during a condolence visit to the governor.
Mr Ganduje served as deputy governor to Mr Kwankwaso for eight years but the relationship turned sour a few months into the former’s tenure.
