Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has assured his continued support for the Nigerian Army and other security agencies on the ongoing war against Boko Haram insurgency in the Northeastern part of the country.
The governor gave the assurance when the newly posted Commander, Sector 2 of Operation Lafia Dole, Suleiman Idris paid him a courtesy call at the state government house, Damaturu.
Mr Buni noted that the military and other security agencies had been doing well in fostering peace in the state which, according to him, was worst hit by the insurgency in the Northeast.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank you more sincerely and through you thank men and officers Nigerian armed forces for their gallantry, support for maintaining peace and sustaining peace in the northeast sub-region particularly Yobe and the Nigeria in General,” the governor said.

“We know the challenges are enormous but, you have the support of Nigerians particularly people of Yobe State.
“We will always cooperate and partner with you to ensure that peace and tranquility is restored in Yobe State and the northeast,” Mr Buni added.
Earlier in his remarks, the Commander, stated that he was at the government house for a formal introduction and support-seeking as he takes charge of the operations of the command.
While assuring the commitments of the military towards restoring peace in the northeast, Mr Idris commended the cordial relationship existing between the Yobe state government, people and the army.
