Boko Haram: New GOC takes charge at 7 Division

A new acting General Officer Commanding, GOC, 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Ibrahim Yusuf, has formally taken over command of the division in Maiduguri Borno State.
Mr Yusuf, a brigadier-general, took over from his predecessor, Victor Ezugwu, also a brigadier-general, who is on posting to Depot Nigerian Army as Commandant.
In a brief ceremony at the headquarters of the division, the new GOC was presented with the division flag by his predecessor after signing the handing and taking over notes during the ceremony at the headquarters of the division in Maimalari Barracks, Maiduguri, Borno State.
The highlight of the occasion was the inspection of Quarter Guard where old flag was lowered and new one hosted which signified the end and beginning of a new command.
Mr Yusuf hails from Yobe State, he is the 7th GOC of the Division since its formation in 2013. He is a member of 37 regular course of the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, and also an alumni of the National Defence College in Abuja.
Until his recent appointment, he was the registrar of NDA.
