A member of the House of Representatives representing Lokoja/Kogi/Koton Karfe, Umar Buba Jibril, has died aged 57.
On March 17, a senator representing Bauchi South, Ali Wakili, died at the age 58 after a brief illness.
Family sources told DAILY NIGERIAN that Mr Jibril died after a protracted illness at an Abuja hospital.
Sources said he had not been attending plenaries for over a year due to the illness. “The last time he attended house sitting was during the budget presentation by President Muhammadu Buhari,” said the source.
Mr Jibril was the deputy leader of the house.
