BREAKING: APC disqualifies lone female guber aspirant Mama Taraba

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has disqualified the minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu and minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, from participating in governorship primaries.

The National Working Committee, NWC, of the party took the decision based on the report of the party’s Governorship Aspirants Screening Committee.

Mr Shittu is aspiring to become the governor of Oyo State, while Mrs Alhassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba, is gunning for Taraba governor.

Although the NWC said Mr Shittu was screened out of the primary for not having a National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, certificate, the committee did not give reasons for disqualifying Mrs Alhassan.

Others who were not cleared for the APC governorship candidates are Osiobe Eric Okotie (Delta), Ejikeme Ugwu (Enugu), Ibrahim Mohammed Mera (Kebbi), Danladi Envulu-Anza Halilu (Nasarawa), and Abubakar Mamma Jiya Maaji (Niger).
