The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, is set to call off its eight-month strike, following a truce reached with the federal government officials.
The ASUU leadership reached the decision during a meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, in Abuja, on Friday.
Sources at the meeting said the government also pledged to increase the total payment to the union to N70 billion.
Recall that the federal government last week exempted ASUU from the controversial Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS.
