Adamu Mohammed, the elder brother to the governor of Bauchi State Bala Mohammed, has been kidnapped by gunmen in Bauchi.

It is double tragedy for the governor who is currently in isolation, receiving treatment for Covid-19.

Witnesses told DAILY NIGERIAN that the gunmen stormed Unguwar Jaki area of Bauchi metropolis at 7:30pm and shot sporadically to scare away bystanders.

“The shot several times in the air to disperse crowd around the area. They then bundled him into a Volkswagen Golf car with Kano registration number and zoomed off,” said a witness who preferred not to be named.

Spokesman for the governor, Mukhtar Gidado, confirmed the incident to DAILY NIGERIAN, saying the governor’s brother was kidnapped alone.

Police are yet to speak on the incident.
