Boko Haram terrorists on Saturday morning ambushed troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole escorting commercial vehicles from Maiduguri to Damboa around Bulabulin area in Borno State, killing 8 civilians.
A competent military source told DAILY NIGERIAN correspondent that the attack, which took place at about 11am, also saw two soldiers killed while 2 commercial vehicles were hijacked by the terrorists and driven into the Sambisa forest area.
The bodies of the victims including the two soldiers have been deposited at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital morgue this evening, our source further said.
The military is yet to issue a statement on the incident.
