President Muhammadu Buhari is currently holding a closed-door meeting with two national leaders of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu and Bisi Akande.
The meeting is holding amid controversy generated by a press statement released by a former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, asking Mr Buhari not to contest again.
Inside sources told DAILY NIGERIAN that the two leaders were received in audience by the president in his residence at the Presidential Villa at exactly 3:50pm on Tuesday.
“The meeting was not initially scheduled as it was not captured in the president’s schedule calendar for today,” said the source.
Mr Akande recently made a subtle criticism of the administration of Mr Buhari, saying Nigeria is currently practicing a “military democracy”.
“Nigeria’s democracy is a military democracy of sharing and if we continue like this, there is no how we can succeed,” he said.
