President Muhammadu Buhari finally arrived Nigeria on Saturday after spending 103 days in the United Kingdom receiving medical attention.
A Nigerian Air Force plane carrying the president landed at the Abuja international airport at exactly 4.36 p.m.
The president would inspect a guard of honour at the presidential wing of the airport, before leaving for the Presidential Villa.
The president’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, had announced the president’s return in a statement on Saturday morning.
The president had left the country on May 7, this year, after handing over power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who has functioned as Acting President since then.
Mr Buhari is expected to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast by 7 a.m on Monday, August 21, 2017.
“He thanks all Nigerians who have prayed ceaselessly for his recovery and well-being since the beginning of the health challenge,” added the statement.
