A captain, sergeant and two other soldiers have been killed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Buni Yadi, Yobe State on Saturday.
Hospital and security sources confirmed to Daily Nigerian that the bodies of the soldiers were deposited at General Hospital, Damaturu on Sunday morning.
The 27 Task Force Brigade Headquarters in Buni Yadi came under severe attack at 18:30 hours on Saturday by the suspected terrorists but were repelled by the Nigerian troops after fierce fire exchange that lasted for two hours.
Sources said the troops also came under another wave of attack along Buni Yadi-Damaturu Road on Sunday morning while conveying the bodies of their colleagues to hospital.
It was unclear how many of the attackers were killed, but sources said “many of them were killed”.
