A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the State Security Service, SSS, to release the Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas, Ifeanyi Ubah within 48 hours.
Since his arrest over an alleged fraudulent oil deal with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mr Ubah has been in SSS detention custody in Abuja.
The judgment, in a 100-page, the trial judge, Justice Mohammed, on Thursday ordered the SSS to release Mr Ubah, if it fails to file a charge against the oil magnate.
The judge also flayed the secret police over its claim that Mr Ubah was arrested in Abuja even as he was actually arrested in Lagos and flown to Abuja where he is currently in detention.
