The Emir of Rano, Dr Tafida Abubakar Ila ll, one of the four emirs of the newly created emirates in Kano State, is dead.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the emir was hospitalized on Friday, following undisclosed ailment.
It was also reported that the emir was rushed to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, AKTH, in a critical condition but for lack of oxygen he was referred to the Nassarawa Specialist Hospital for further medical attention.
The deceased, aged 74, is survived by 17 children and two wives.
A family source told our correspondent that the emir would be buried this evening.
