Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has reportedly defected to the All progressives Congress, APC, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, DAILY NIGERIAN learnt.
Recall that the governor had indicated his intention to move to the ruling party, following his claim that the South-Eastern region had suffered injustice in the hands of the PDP.
Mr Umahi, during a meeting with the national leadership of the PDP on Tuesday in Abuja, had said he was joining the ruling party which he claimed would protect the interest of the South-East in the 2023 elections.
Mr Umahi had told the members of the National Working Committee of the PDP that his decision to join the APC was irrevocable.
