The deputy speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Zubairu Hamza Massu, has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP.
Mr Massu, also grassroots politician in Kano South, announced his decision to dump APC in a letter addressed to Massu Ward chairman of the party.
The lawmaker cited crises in the party and unjust treatment and lack of internal democracy.
“Following the recent happening in the party coupled with a series of consultation with my constituents, supporter and stakeholders in Sumaila and Kano South in general, I write to notify you of my intention and decision to resign as a member of All Progressives
Congress Party (APC).
“The decision is mainly due to unjust treatment, inadequate internal democracy and the total marginalization of Kano South from a lot of opportunities,” he said in the letter.
