Supreme Court on Monday upheld the March 9, 2019 election that produced Simon Lalong as the governor of Plateau State.
The court, in a unanimous judgement by a seven-man panel of justices led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, dismissed the appeal of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Jeremiah Useni, challenging the outcome of the governorship election in the state.
Delivering his judgement, the lead Justice, Paul Galinje, said there was no reason to disrupt the concurrent decisions of both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal that returned Mr Lalong as the duly elected governor of Plateau state.
