National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Wednesday, filed eight-count charges at the Federal High Court, Kano against Sulaiman Danwawu, a notorious drug kingpin in Kano.
On May 10, the Kano Police Command announced the arrest of the suspected drug baron, alongside other suspected criminals in the state.
Mr Danwawu was subsequently transferred to the NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution.
In the charge sheet obtained by DAILY NIGERIAN, the anti-narcotics agency filed eight-count charges bordering on possession of various forms of narcotic substances.

COUNT ONE
That you SULAIMAN AMINU, male, 37 years old, on or about the 8 day of May, 2025 at Cairo Street, Tudun Yola, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court, without lawful authority knowingly possessed 72 grams of Tramadol, a narcotic drug similar to cocaine, heroin and LSD, thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 19 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
COUNT TWO
That you SULAIMAN AMINU, male, 37 years old, on or about the gt day. of May, 2025 at Cairo Street, Tudun Yola, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court, without lawful authority knowingly possessed 1.7 grams of Rohypnol, a psychotropic substance similar to cocaine, heroin and LSD, thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 19 of the National Drug Kano State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court, without lawful authority knowingly possessed 24.1 kilograms of Pregabalin, a narcotic drug similar to cocaine, heroin and LSD, thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 19 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
COUNT THREE
That you SULAIMAN AMINU, male, 37 years old, on or about the 16h day of May, 2025 at Cairo Street, Tudun Yola, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court, without lawful authority knowingly possessed 4 grams of Tramadol, a narcotic drug similar to cocaine, heroin and LSD, thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 19 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
COUNT FOUR
That you SULAIMAN AMINU, male, 37 years old, on or about the 8th day of May, 2025 at Cairo Street, Tudun Yola, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court, without lawful authority knowingly possessed 2.3 kilograms of Cough Syrup with Codeine, a narcotic drug similar to cocaine, heroin and LSD, thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 19 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria,
2004.
COUNT FIVE
That you SULAIMAN AMINU, male, 37 years old, on or about the 8th day of May, 2025 at Cairo Street, Tudun Yola, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court, without lawful authority knowingly possessed 24.1 kilograms of Pregabalin, a narcotic drug similar to cocaine, heroin and LSD, thereby committed an offence
contrary to and punishable under Section 19 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria,
2004.

That you SULAIMAN AMINU, male, 37 years old, on or about the 16th day of May, 2025 at Cairo Street, Tudun Yola, Gwale Local Government
Area of Kano State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court, without lawful authority knowingly possessed 4 grams of Tramadol, a narcotic drug similar to cocaine, heroin and LSD, thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 19 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
COUNT SEVEN
That you SULAIMAN AMINU, male, 37 years old, on or about the 16th day of May, 2025 at Cairo Street, Tudun Yola, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court, without lawful authority knowingly possessed 28 grams of Cannabis Sativa, a narcotic drug similar to cocaine, heroin and LSD, thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 19 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
