BREAKING: Supreme Court adjourns all appeals till Tuesday

The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned all appeals till Tuesday.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, had earlier suspended the sitting twice, following some commotion at the entrance of the court and later due to the illness of one of the seven justices.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that at about 9 am, the CJN had led other Justices to storm out of the courtroom, citing “excessive noise” as the reason for their action.

He said the Kano matter, alongside the six other governorship appeals, would be stood down for medical attention to the affected justice, who he did not name.

Recall that the state governors of Kano, Imo, Benue, Plateau, and Sokoto await the apex court’s final verdict on the judgment earlier secured at the Court of Appeal which declared them as the winners of the governorship elections in their various states.
