Supreme Court has affirmed Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the validly elected governor of Enugu State.
Recall that on November 10, the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, had affirmed Mr Mbah’s election.
The appellate court, in its unanimous decision, resolved all three issues argued against the appellant, Edeoga Jonathan of the Labour Party.
The three-member panel presided over by Justice Tani Hassan held that the appellant failed to prove that the respondent was not qualified to contest the governorship election.
Delivering its judgement on Friday, the apex court led by Justice Mohammed Garba, described as mere allegation the statement that Mr Mbah did not posses the National Youth Service Corp certificate.
The court, therefore, resolved all the issues raised in the appeal against the appellant.
