President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday failed attend the Federal Executive Council meeting – for the third time in a row.
Although reports claimed his itinerary for the week shows he will be available for the meeting, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is currently presiding over meeting.
The presidency confirmed this in a tweet that “The Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting has started. Vice President @ProfOsinbajo is presiding.”
Mr Buhari on Tuesday resumed duty in his office in the presidential villa, Abuja and had audience with the minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and group managing director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru.
Last week minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said Mr Buhari needed time to rest and would work from home.
Notable Nigerians such as the founding chairman of the ruling party Bisi Akande, Femi Falana, Aliyu Tilde and Jibrin Ibrahim have called on the president to take sick leave to attend to his health as he was not attending to state matters of late.
