Buhari in closed-door meeting with service chiefs in Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday entered into a closed-door meeting with Nigeria’s service chiefs.

The meeting started at the President’s office in the State House around 11am.

Although the agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed, their discussion would likely dwell on the security situation in the country.

Another issue likely to be discussed in the meeting is how to ensure maximum security during next Saturday’s governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.

Present are Chief of Defence Staff Gabriel Olonishakin, Chief of Army Staff Yusuf Buratai, Chief of Naval Staff Ibok-Ete Ibas, and Chief of Air Staff Sadiq Abubakar.

Others include the National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno, Director General of National Intelligence Agency, NIA, the Director General, Department of Security Service, DSS, and Acting Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu.

Also present at the ongoing meeting are Minister of Interior Abdulrahman Dangazzau and the Minister of Defence Mansur Dan-Ali.
