Buhari lays foundation for JIBWIS Islamic University in Jigawa

President Muhammadu Buhari has laid a foundation for the construction of an Islamic University, AS-Salam Global University, Hadejia, owned by the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’iqamatis Sunnah, JIBWIS, in Jigawa State.

Represented by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, the president performed the groundbreaking ceremony.

President Buhari served as the special guest of honour, at the event, while the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar was the chairman of the occasion.

Also present at the gathering include the Host Governor of the State, Muhammad Badaru, the Governors of Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina and Kano States and past governors of Zamfara State,

The groundbreaking events also had the presence of legislative members, traditional rulers, religious leaders top government personnel, philanthropist, among others.

Speaking at the commissioning, the JIBWIS National Chairman, Sheik Bala Lau restated that the university project belongs to the Muslim Ummah.

He said: “This is why we extended invitation to people all over the country to come and participate in this project with whatever Allah has blessed them with.”

“As we mark the beginning of this giant project, let it be known by all that we seek to establish an advanced learning institution that is well equipped for the benefit of the entire Umma. We Allah guide us throughout the journey. Ameen.”
