President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday resumed duty in his office in the presidential villa, Abuja.
Last week minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said Mr Buhari needed time to rest and would work from home.
Notable Nigerians such as the founding chairman of the ruling party Bisi Akande, Femi Falana, Aliyu Tilde and Jibrin Ibrahim have called on the president to take sick leave to attend to his health as he was not attending to state matters of late.
But sources in the Presidency said the president, on his resumption, had closed door meetings separately with the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, Abubkar Malami, and the Group Managing Director, GMD of the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation, Maikanti Baru.
Mr Malami confirmed Mr Buhari’s resumption to State House correspondents while answering questions after the meeting with the president, saying he briefed the president on the progress made so far by a presidential committee.
Mr Malami is a member of the three-man presidential committee investigating suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke.
