President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu have stormed Kano State to attend the wedding ceremony of daughter of the state’s governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Mr Ganduje, on Saturday gave the hand of his daughter, Fatima Ganduje, to Idris Ajimobi, the son of Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi, at N50,000 dowry.
The grand ceremony, which took place at the state’s Central Mosque, had President Buhari as the chief guest.
The solemnization, contracted by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, was performed at exactly 12:30 pm, with the support of the state’s Chief Imam, Sani Zaharaddin, a professor.
Mr Buhari, who stood for the groom, gave out the dowry to Mr Tinubu, who represented the bride.
However, DAILY NIGERIAN correspondent observed that the ancient city of Kano was brought to a halt, as 22 governors, led by the Chairman Northern Governors Forum, Abdul’aziz Yari, graced the occasion.
It was also observed that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki,11 ministers and traditional rulers attended the wedding.
Others who greeted the event were members of business communities, prominent Islamic scholars and diplomatic corps, among others.
Our reporter also observed that the wedding ceremony took place amidst tight security, as hundreds of residents thronged the venue to catch a glimpse on the eminent personalities present.
All roads linking to the area was blocked, causing heavy traffic gridlock on the metropolis.
