Buhari wins Gombe with 264,484 votes margin

President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has polled 402,961 votes, beating Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar who secured 138,484 votes in last Saturday’s election.

The Returning Officer of the presidential election in the state, Prof. Mohammed Kyari, while announcing the results said Mr Buhari won convincingly in nine out of the 11 local government areas.

The local government areas are: Akko, Balanga, Kaltungo, Gombe, Dukku, Nafada, Kwami, Yamaltu-Deba and Funakaye.

According to the returning officer, Mr Atiku only won in Billiri and Shongom local government areas of the state.

Mr Kyari said 604,340 voters were accredited but only 554,203 votes were valid, while 26,486 votes were invalid.
