Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State will present the state’s 2020 finance appropriation bills before the state House of Assembly today (Wednesday).
It is the first budget proposal that Mr Buni would present to the Assembly since assuming office as governor over five months ago.
Our correspondent gathered that the budget would reflect the governor’s desire to accelerate Yobe’s socio-economic transformation as it emerges from the Boko Haram insurgency since 2011.
Governor Buni had pushed ahead with projects he inherited from the immediate past administration of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam.

He also initiated new projects such as laying foundation for the construction of markets and housing units in the state.
Others include the resuscitation of the dormant Yobe Flour and Feed Mills, Yobe Aluminum Company and the Yobe Woven Sacks Factory.
It was also gathered from sources within the government that Governor Buni will intensify effort to strike public-private partnership arrangements with potential investors to try to tap from Yobe’s vast solid mineral and agricultural resources in the 2020 financial year.
