SarakiThe president of the Senate, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has called on Unilever Group to patronize Nigeria’s raw materials for their productions.

Saraki made the call on Thursday when he held a meeting with the management of the Unilever Group, led by its President in charge of Africa, Mr. Bruno Witvoet.

The Senate president urged the conglomerate to source more of its raw materials, especially agricultural produce like palm oil from Nigeria in order to provide the much needed empowerment for local farmers.

Saraki said he “assured the group that the present administration is serious about its policy on diversification of the economy, while the National Assembly is also reviewing some extant laws to make Nigeria a business-friendly destination.”
