CAC staff hold rally, celebrate sacking of Registrar-General Garba Abubakar

The staff of the Corporate Affairs Commission have held a rally to celebrate the sack of the registrar general of the commission, Garba Abubakar.

On Friday, President Bola Tinubu had sacked Mr Abubakar along with other heads of agencies under the ministry of industry, trade, and investment.

According to a statement issued by a presidential spokesman, Mr Abubakar was replaced by Hussaini Magaji.

Rejoicing over the news, the staff who trooped out in their numbers at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja described Mr Abubakar’s sack as an exit of a tyrant leader.

They accused him of introducing anti-labour policies, backwardness, and abandoning staff welfare in the commission.

Addressing the jubilant staff, an executive member of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees, AUPCTRE, CAC, chapter who refused to provide his name, thanked the President for wiping their tears.

He said all attempts to draw the attention of the previous administration to their plight ended in futility.

He said: “We thank the president of appointing a very young man to the position of registrar general of the corporate affairs commission of Nigeria.

“We thank the president for the timely sacking of the wicked, vicious, and sadist, registrar general and appointing a young man.

“Despite our cries to the previous administration, they refused to yield to our complaints.

“CAC staff are very hardworking and dedicated, but because of the administrative terrorism of the previous registrar general, we were not able to give our full input as supposed. I’m appealing to us to give the new chief executive officer the maximum support and cooperation.

“One of the key cardinal principles in administration is human resources, and It is very clear that staff welfare in the corporate affairs commission is almost nonexistent.”
