Chelsea are expected to open contract extension talks with Victor Moses in the coming weeks in their bid to fend off interest from La Liga side, Barcelona, reports

Sky Sports says Chelsea higher-ups, including former Nigeria international, Michael Emenalo, who is the technical director, have been impressed with Moses in his new right wing-back role, and are looking to tie him down to a new long-term deal.

The Super Eagles star has three more years left on his current deal, having penned a contract extension before joining West Ham on loan last season.

Moses has scored three goals in 12 Premier League appearances this term, behind only Hazard and Diego Costa. The 25-year-old represented Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic before switching to Stamford Bridge. He has has endeared himself into the hearts of Blues fans by declaring that he has found a home at Chelsea.

The 25-year-old scored the winner as the former premier league champions beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 to record a seventh victory on the spin and handed Spurs their first defeat this season in the league.

Moses was voted the Man-of-the-Match after the game and he expressed delight with his goal but happier with the three points the team grabbed.“I am very pleased with the goal but the most important thing is the three points. There’s nothing we could do about the Spurs goal. Fortunately Pedro got us back in the game,” Moses said after the match.

“I feel like I have found a home here. It’s my club. I’m pleased the manager has given me a chance to express myself. I just want to keep playing my football and we are very happy with the win today.”
