An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, on Wednesday ordered one Saheed Amoo, 45, to be remanded in a Correctional Centre over alleged possession of locally made gun and three live cartridges.
Mr Amoo, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with unlawful possession of firearm, cartridges.
The Magistrate, O.A. Akande, did not take the plea of the suspect for want of jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, pending legal advice.
She adjourned the case until November 10 for mention.
The prosecutor, Philip Amusan, told the court that the suspect allegedly committed the offence on September 28 at 6. 30 p.m, at Wema bank area, Ibadan.
Mr Amusan alleged that Amoo possessed the weapon without justification.
He said the offence contravened Section 3 of the Robbery and Firearms laws of Nigeria, 2004.
