Kano State has recorded five more cases of Coronavirus, bring the total infection cases to 26 in the state.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, made the disclosure Thursday night via tis Twitter handle.
“As at 10:20 pm 16th April there are 442 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 152 have been discharged with 13 deaths.
“Thirty-five new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 19 in Lagos 9 in FCT 5 in Kano 2 in Oyo As at 10:20 pm 16th April there are 442 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 152 have been discharged with 13 deaths,” the NCDC wrote.
However, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s Special Adviser on Media, Salihu Yakasai, claimed that the five reported cases were part of yesterday’s cases that were omitted by the NCDC.
Writing on his Twitter handle, the governor’s media aide said: “Its worthy to mention that the 5 cases reported for Kano here are part of the 21 total confirmed cases as of yesterday.
“The NCDC omitted it in their updates yesterday. As of today, no new case in Kano. May it stay that way.”
DAILY NIGERIAN is, however, yet to verify Mr Yakasai’s claim from the NCDC as at the time of filing this report.
