Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle has directed all banks in the state to provide hand sanitisers to customers at all their ATM premises.
A statement signed by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Zailani Bappa, said the directive was given following the trooping of persons at ATM machines after the payment of March salaries.
The statement noted that the governor who went round ATM machines at the premises of many banks in the state capital, Gusau, warned managers against defaulting his directive.
“Any bank found to be defaulting in this simple instruction will have its operation closed down,” Mr Matawalle warned.
Similarly, the governor, during a visit to Bebeji mobile phones plaza, called on the residents to observe the basic principles of protection against the pandemic of COVID-19, including social distancing.
Mr Matawalle, therefore, ensured that his administration would do everything possible to protect the citizens from contacting the dreaded virus.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that so far, no single case of the pandemic or its suspect was reported in the state.
