The Nasarawa State Government has isolated another suspected Coronavirus patient at Specialist Hospital, Lafia, the state capital.
Recall that on March 20, a family of five had also been isolated at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Keffi, after exhibiting some symptoms suspected to be Coronavirus.
Confirming the new case on Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Health, Pharm. Ahmed Yahaya, said the victim came from Abuja for a wedding ceremony in Lafia.
According to him, the suspect was rushed to the specialist hospital after developing some symptoms of the virus.
“It is true that at about 5:00 pm yesterday, we were informed by the Rapid Response Team that a suspected case of Coronavirus was recorded.
“The person came in from Abuja and started exhibiting some symptoms likely to be these of Coronavirus and our team got him isolated.
“We have even started tracing those that came in contact with him and a link has been on and we are on course,” the commissioner disclosed.
Mr Yahaya stated that saliva samples and other necessities of the suspected victim had been taken to Abuja for test to ascertain his true status.
