The controversial leader of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah, JIBWIS, in Plateau State, Sheikh Sani Jingir, has finally submitted to Governor Simon Lalong’s order banning all gatherings above 50 persons to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
Subsequently, the cleric was invited by the State Security Services, SSS, for violating the lockdown order against the spread of the virus in the state.
During the SSS drilling, Mr Jingir was reportedly forced to write an undertaking declaring his allegiance to the state government’s orders.
Today, Friday, our correspondent observed that the Sheikh was conspicuously absent in the mosque premises as at the time the Juma’at prayer was said by dozens of worshipers at the Yantaya mosque.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that Mr Jingir had recently become a subject of controversy over his defiance and denial to the existence of Coronavirus.
The Sheikh was also reported to have attributed the outbreak of the pandemic to a Jewish conspiracy against Islam and Muslims.
