The Police Command in Sokoto State, on Thursday, said it would ensure prosecution of violators of the ban on non-essential inter-state travels.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ibrahim Kaoje, gave the warning while leading the compliance monitoring committee on assessment of the state boundary closure.

A statement issued by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Muhammad Sadiq, said that the police commissioner and his team were at the Bimasa closure point in Tureta council area of the state.

Mr Kaoje, however, urged the security operatives in the state to remain professional in their conducts and show utmost respect for people’s rights.
