Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II and her son, Crown Prince Frederik, are expected in Germany on Wednesday to start a four-day state visit.
They will meet German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife at Bellevue Palace on Wednesday after their arrival.
The queen would then visit the Charite hospital in Berlin and would also meet Chancellor Angela Merkel for a late breakfast.
A visit to the new Humboldt Forum and the Brandenburg Gate were scheduled for the afternoon.
The Danish queen, who is 81, and her 53-year-old son would take part in a wreath-laying ceremony at Berlin’s memorial to the victims of war and tyranny.
The visit to Berlin would last until Friday.
Queen Margrethe would then travel on alone to Munich.
