Dapchi schoolgirls land in Maiduguri airport after meeting with Buhari

The freed Dapchi schoolgirls of Government Girls Secondary Technical College, GGSTC, Dapchi, on Sunday arrived Maiduguri on their way back to Damaturu, after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that 104 of the 110 abducted students were released by Boko Haram insurgents on March 21.

The freed girls, brought in a military aircraft, landed at about 10.00 a.m. at the 105 Nigeria Air Force Composite Command, Maiduguri.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the girls, accompanied by top government officials and representatives of the parents, left Maiduguri in convoy of buses to Damaturu, where they were expected to be formally handed over to their families.

One of the parents, Aliyu Maismabu, expressed joy over the development.
