Bad Boy Entertainment, BBE, CEO Sean Combs -popularly known by his stage name P. Diddy – has changed his name for approximately the 19th time.
The rapper, producer, mogul, the richest man in hip-hop has decided to ditch his most commonly known moniker ‘Diddy’ to the very surreal, Love.
Love first revealed his latest identity last November on social media but later dismissed it by saying it was a joke, although he has now confirmed the name change is really happening.
Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel on his late-night chat show, Puff Daddy/Diddy/ now Love said he has “retracted the retraction”.
“I never went back to Diddy and I made an edit from Brother Love, since I’m already black, to just Love,” he told Kimmel. “The Brother seemed redundant. And it’s working out great. Who doesn’t love Love?” he quizzed.
This is a fair assessment, but what if someone slips up? Well, he says we “can call [him] by the other names. It’s just an evolution of my soul and my vibration.”
To put it plain and simple, he explained, “I’m Diddy, but during the days that are really, really good, I’m Love – which is all of the time.” he added.
From Puff Daddy to Puff to Puffy to P. Diddy to Diddy to Diddy – Dirty Money then back to Puff Daddy and now to Love, we definitely have love for this legend whatever his name of choice is at the time.
