A massive turnout of Kogi West constituents was recorded early Sunday morning in their bid to recall their representative in the upper chambers of the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye.

The voters are accusing their senator of several misconducts and disregards to constituted authority.

Mr Melaye’s stint has been enmeshed in several controversies among which was his recent spat with his state governor, an alleged phone call with a judge that handled his election trial as well as his escape of an assassination attempt at his Kogi house.

Indications emerged yesterday, that the exercise would record a success due to the overwhelming interests shown for the recall by the various stakeholders.

One of the voters said “Senator Dino completely lacks the qualities of a good representative. We are tired and sick of his misconducts, he has betrayed us.

“Today’s exercise is an opportunity for us to redeem our image before the outside world, if not, nobody will take us serious in Kogi west.”

An elderly man from Ijumu LG area, said Senator Dino’s last conducts in the House of Representatives was the reason they refused to return him in 2011, saying they were not surprise at his recent misconducts now in the senate.
