Serbian tennis star, Novak Djokovic has parted ways with every member of his coaching team “to find the winning spark again.”Sharing the shocking news on his website yesterday, which has since sent the tennis world into a frenzy, the winner of 12 Grand Slam titles said he made the decision after discussing with each member and he felt he needed to make the change to introduce a ‘new energy in order to raise his level of play.”

“I am forever grateful to Marian, GG and Miljan for decade of friendship, professionalism and commitment to my career goals. Without their support I couldn’t have achieved these professional heights. I know they completely dedicated themselves and their lives to help me achieve my dreams and they were always my driving force and wind in my back. It was not an easy decision, but we all felt that we need a change.

“I am very grateful and proud of our relationship and unbreakable bond that we built through years of mutual love, respect and understanding. They are my family and that will never change”, he said.

Marian Vajda has been his longtime coach for over a decade, Gebhard Phil Grirtsch, his fitness coach and Miljan Amanovic, his physiotherapist. This is coming on the heels of firing his former head coach Boris Becker, late last year.

Since winning the French Open in June of last year, the Serb had suffered many shocking defeats, losing in all but two tournaments and has won just two titles since then. The only final he made this year, which he won, was in Doha, where he beat Andy Murray to take the title. Since then, he hasn’t progressed to even the quarterfinals of any tournament and hasn’t won a single title, something that has never happened in almost ten years.

He adds that he wants to undergo shock therapy and believe it would help him achieve better results. He also says he wants to add a new head coach, but doesn’t want to rush things.
