Full services have been restored at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital following his prompt intervention of the governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf.

In a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi DawakinTofa, the chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Kano Chapter, Dr Abdurrahman Ali, confirmed the resumption of services today while addressing the press at the Kano Government House.

Mr Abdurrahman stated that the decision to suspend the strike came after a productive meeting with Mr Yusuf, where tensions arising from a misunderstanding between a hospital doctor and a state commissioner were amicably resolved.

He called on Kano residents to channel any grievances through appropriate authorities, assuring them that any disputes between patients and healthcare providers would be investigated and addressed.

Earlier in a live radio interview, Mr Yusuf had appealed to the hospital’s doctors to reconsider the strike, citing potential risks to vulnerable patients, particularly pregnant women and children in need of urgent medical attention.
