The governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has sought amendment on the lists of claims and witnesses in his case against DAILY NIGERIAN and its publisher, Jaafar Jaafar.
Mr Ganduje had dragged Mr Jaafar before the court, seeking N3billion damages for publishing videos of the governor stuffing dollars in his pockets.
Mr Ganduje had, through his counsels, filed the motion on November 10 last year seeking an order to file additional witnesses statements.
At the resumed sitting on Thursday, Mr Jaafar’s counsel, Ubi Eteng, objected to the request on the ground that it was an abuse of court processes.
However, Mr Ganduje’s counsel, MN Duru, insisted that the motion was brought under order 24, rules 1, 2 and 3 of the state high court civil procedure rules 2014.
The presiding Judge, Justice Suleiman Namalam, then adjourned the matter to March 8 for for ruling and continuation of hearing after the heated arguments.
