Dry season farming: Sule flags off sale of fertilizer at N4,000 per bag in Nasarawa

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has launched the sale of 30,000 metric tons of fertilizer to dry season farmers in the state. 

Declaring the sales open in Lafia the state capital, Governor Sule said the idea was to boost agricultural activities and provide adequate foods to people of the state and the country at large.

Mr Sule, who was represented by the Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe, said the present administration is determined to ensure that the dry season farmers get their fertilizer in time as well as the raining season farmers in order to boost food production across the state.

In his remarks, the state commissioner for Agriculture, Prof. Allahnanan Otakie stated that the government would continue to accord more priority to agriculture, stressing that government would also partner giant companies in the agricultural business- sector to achieve the set goals.

The commissioner further explained that the product was purchased at the cost of N5,500 and subsidized to farmers at the cost of N4,000.
