Dutse federal varsity’s College of Medicine gets MDCN accreditation

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, MDCN, has given accreditation to the Pre-Clinical Program of the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, of the Federal University, Dutse – Jigawa State.

MDCN is the professional health regulatory agency for the professions of Medicine, Dentistry and Alternative Medicine in Nigeria.

Conveying the decision of the Council to the Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo-Mohammed, the MDCN Registrar, Dr. T.A.B Sanusi, congratulated the VC and the university for the positive development.

Mr Sanusi said Council was satisfied with report of the accreditation visitation panel of December 21& 22, 2021 and that of May 27, 2022.

On his part, the VC who expressed his gratitude to Allah over the accreditation, thanked the management, staff and students for their cooperation and support throughout the period.

Mr Sabo-Mohammed particularly commended the Provost of the College, Prof. Muhammad Sani-Mijinyawa and the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Sanusi Chinade, for their efforts towards attaining the feat.

According to him, the positive accreditation result is a challenge to the university to double its efforts in ensuring standard and excellence in its medical program.

Mr Abdulkarim also commended the accreditation team for a job well done.

Recall that in April 2022, the National Universities Commission had also given Medicine & Surgery & 18 other programs of the university full accreditation in April 2022.
