Edward Onoja resigns as Yahaya Bello’s Chief of Staff

Edward Onoja, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has resigned his position.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that Mr Onoja’s resignation is coming a few weeks to the November 16 governorship election in the state.

However, a former Yahaya Bello’s Director-General (Protocol), Abdulkareem Jamiu, has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff to the governor.

Mr Jamiu’s appointment was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Folashade Arike.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that Mr Onoja’s resignation was to pave way for him to become Mr Bello’s running mate during the governor’s second term.

Recall that Mr Bello and his deputy had been at loggerheads over political differences.
