The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested an Information Technology, IT, expert and six others for alleged internet fraud in Ibadan, Oyo State.
This is contained in a statement signed by the commission’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, on Wednesday.
Mr Uwujaren noted that the suspects were arrested at Main Stay Hotel, Akala Express Area in Ibadan following a series of intelligence reports linking them to fraudulent activities.
According to him, their activities ranged from love scam on numerous dating sites to obtaining money by false pretenses and other fraud cases still being investigated.
The EFCC spokesperson revealed that a car, cell phones, laptops and several incriminating documents were recovered from the suspects.
Mr Uwujaren confirmed that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
