The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has recovered no fewer than 53 tricycles belonging to the Zamfara State government.
Speaking during the handing-over ceremony, the head of the Sokoto Zonal office of the EFCC, Abdullahi Lawal said the tricycles were part of the 1,000 pieces valued N1.2 billion supplied by Kymco and Wadatto Limited.
According to the EFCC, the contractor, who was engaged by former Governor AbdulAziz Yari, refused to supply the remaining 53 even after the government had transited to another administration.

Mr Lawal said: “As you are aware, the commission is carrying out a clinical investigation into the activities of the last administration and we want to assure you and the people of Zamfara State that the commission would not relent on its oars to prosecute anyone found culpable.”
Receiving the tricycles on behalf of the Zamfara State government, the Secretary to the State Government, Bala Umaru, thanked the EFCC for the recovery.
Mr Bala assured that the tricycles would be distributed to the beneficiaries transparently with the supervision of the EFCC.
