The Yobe State Government has placed a 12-hour restriction of vehicular movement in the state during the occasion of the Eid-el Kabir celebration.
A statement by on Monday by Abdullahi Bego, the Director General of Press Affairs to Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, said this became necessary following a security meeting he had with heads of security, intelligence and law enforcement in the state.
“This is to inform members of the public that, His Excellency Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has approved the placement of a 12-hour restriction of vehicular movement across the state as part of preparations for peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el Kabir prayers tomorrow Tuesday 21st August 2018,” the statement added.
According to Mr Bego, the restriction would begin from 10.00pm tonight (Monday) to 10.00am tomorrow (Tuesday).
Mr Bego said that the governor, while wishing the Muslim Ummah a peaceful and memorable Eid-el Kabir festival, emphasised that no vehicle would be allowed within or near Eid prayer grounds except those on special duties.
